Assistant F&B Manager
Salary: €40-45k + Tips
Location: Kildare/Dublin West
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Oversee the daily operation of the hotel’s bars, ensuring high standards of service, cleanliness, and efficiency.
- Develop and update cocktail menus, ensuring they reflect current trends while aligning with the hotel’s overall theme and guest preferences.
- Monitor and control stock levels, ensuring appropriate inventory is maintained, and minimize waste in bar operations.
- Collaborate with suppliers and vendors to source quality beverages, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic, and ensure cost-effective purchasing.
- Assist in training, coaching, and mentoring bar staff to deliver exceptional service and maintain high levels of product knowledge.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, promoting teamwork and a high standard of guest service.
- Assist in scheduling and managing the bar team, ensuring appropriate staffing levels based on operational needs.
- Engage with guests to ensure their satisfaction with beverages and bar-related services, responding promptly to any issues or complaints.
- Assist in implementing and maintaining guest service standards, ensuring that all interactions are professional and attentive.
- Ensure all bar operations comply with health and safety regulations, licensing laws, and hotel policies.
- Monitor the cleanliness and maintenance of bar areas, ensuring they meet the hotel’s hygiene and safety standards.
- Assist the Food and Beverage Manager with budget planning, cost control, and financial reporting for bar operations.
- Monitor sales, identify opportunities to increase revenue, and suggest promotions or special events to drive business.
- Ensure the effective management of bar budgets, including controlling costs and maximizing profitability.
- Work closely with the kitchen and other departments to ensure seamless coordination between food and beverage services.
- Attend departmental meetings to provide updates, share insights, and discuss challenges or opportunities within the bar operations.
- Assist in organising and executing events or private functions held within the hotel, ensuring the bar is well-prepared and provides outstanding service.
- Support the creation of bespoke drink offerings for special events or corporate gatherings.
Candidate:
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in bar management or a similar supervisory role within a hotel, restaurant, or hospitality setting.
- Proven experience in leading a team within bar operations, including cocktail creation, drink service, and managing beverage inventories.
- Strong understanding of bar equipment, beverage products, and cocktail trends.
- Prior experience working with point-of-sale systems and bar-related financial management.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage guests and lead a team.
- A background in hospitality management, or relevant field (e.g., bartending or mixology certification, or similar).
- Passionate about delivering exceptional guest experiences and fostering a positive team environment.
- Strong leadership and decision-making abilities.
